Javelin/Young Athletes

What’s your favorite track and field event?

Turbo Javelin

Who’s been the most influential person in your life?

Jesus Christ. He totally changed my life, gave me a new purpose beyond athletics, and has re-shaped my character. I now try to give my life away in service to others instead of solely for myself.

Who’s your favorite super hero?

The Hulk. What’s not to love about a huge green dude who smashes everything in sight!

If there was a movie about your life, what famous actor/actress would play you?

The Rock…for no other reason than he’s the Rock!

Which coach had the biggest impact on your athletic journey?

My father, who coached me from the time I was seven years old until my senior year of high school. He taught me how to set goals and work hard, even though I didn’t like to listen to him at the tie. He also taught me how to respect my sport and my opponents by playing with 100% effort, intensity, humility, and class—in victory and defeat.

Tell us something interesting about your life that the Flyers might not know?

I have a black belt in Hapkido and am an ordained minister, which basically means that if you don’t like the way I preach, I like to slap you around a little bit! J

If you could take a time machine back to any place, event, miracle etc… in the Bible where would you go?

I would definitely love to go back and be a witness for any one of Jesus’ post-Resurrection appearances. I can only imagine what it must have felt like for the disciples to see their Messiah appear to them after they thought He was crucified, buried, and lost to them forever.

What’s your favorite Bible verse?

“For it is by grace you have been saved through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”  Ephesians 2:8-10
