With deep sorrow

Oct 4, 2020

It is with great sadness that we inform you, our very own Coach Hampton passed away in his sleep this past Sunday. Coach Hampton, his wife, and their three children have been part of the Flippen Flyers team for many years. Dennis volunteered his time year after year to help train and encourage our children. He was genuine, kind, reliable and supportive among many other wonderful qualities. He will be sincerely missed by all who knew him and had the honor to see his smiling face, hear his words of encouragement, and share a laugh.

A friend of the family has set up a donation/meal delivery site. We gladly told her, we would pass on the info to our team as we know many of you will want to help in any way you find possible. Please click on the following link to view more details.

Memorial for Dennis on Friday, October 9, 2020, from 12:00-2:00 pm at Country Side Funeral Home, located at 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd. in Streamwood (at Barrington Road).
On Wednesday, October 14, 2020, there will be a viewing at 12:00 pm and Services at 1:00 pm for Dennis at the Donald Jordan Memorial Chapel, located at 2299 University Blvd., Hamilton, Ohio, 45015.

2020 Season Update

It is with the deepest regret that we must announce the cancellation of the 2020 track season. As we prepared and brainstormed over ideas of making this season work, we have been overcome with obstacles that are out of our control. We have been communicating closely with AAU, Harper College and Palatine Parks to try to get ahead of these challenges and find collaborative solutions, but with all of the unknowns we had to make the difficult, but necessary decision to cancel this years season. As some of you may already be aware that USATF and AAU have now canceled their Junior Olympics. We have concluded that we could not create the type of track experience that would meet our standards and provide the children with a fun and competitive track experience, as well as placing your health and safety our number one priority. Please be safe and well!
